Oklahoma has hired Lucas McKay as the program’s first men’s basketball general manager, the school announced.
McKay arrives from Clemson, where he served in the same role. Oklahoma’s move creates a new front-office position within the men’s basketball program, formalizing a general manager title that has become increasingly common across college athletics.
What the hire means
With McKay’s appointment, Oklahoma officially adds a men’s basketball general manager for the first time. McKay’s previous experience as Clemson’s GM gives him direct background in the position as he transitions to Norman.
