The NBA has fined Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball $35,000 for “making unnecessary and reckless contact” with Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo during Tuesday’s play-in game.
Ball was also fined an additional $25,000 for using profane language during a televised interview following the game.
Two separate fines from Tuesday’s play-in
The league’s discipline stems from two incidents tied to the same night: the on-court contact involving Adebayo and Ball’s postgame comments on television. The NBA issued the $35,000 fine for the play involving Adebayo and the $25,000 fine for the language used after the game.
In total, Ball was fined $60,000 in connection with Tuesday’s play-in contest.
