High Point is headed back to the NCAA tournament after a convincing championship performance in the Big South Conference.

Rob Martin scored 24 points, Cam’Ron Fletcher added 17 points and 19 rebounds, and the top-seeded Panthers pulled away from No. 2 seed Winthrop for a 91-76 win Sunday to claim the Big South tournament title.

Back-to-back conference crowns

The victory marked High Point’s second straight Big South Conference championship, continuing the program’s run at the top of the league. By winning the conference tournament final, the Panthers also secured the Big South’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Winthrop, the second seed, couldn’t match High Point’s production from its leading scorers as the Panthers built separation and closed out the title game with a 15-point margin.
