Georgia Tech has fired men’s basketball coach Damon Stoudamire, the school announced Sunday, ending his tenure after three seasons in Atlanta.
The decision comes on the heels of a last-place finish, closing a chapter that began when Stoudamire was hired to lead the Yellow Jackets’ program. Georgia Tech did not retain him beyond his third year, making a coaching change following the conclusion of the season.
Program reset
Stoudamire’s departure marks the latest reset for a Georgia Tech team coming off a difficult campaign that left it at the bottom of the standings. The school will now move forward without him as it turns to the next phase for the program.
