North Carolina and NC State have added another meeting to their schedule, setting up a nonconference matchup at a neutral site in Greensboro on Dec. 15.
The game was arranged following a reduction in ACC conference games, giving the longtime in-state rivals a second matchup outside the league schedule structure.
UNC and NC State are traditionally ACC opponents, but this added contest will be classified as a nonconference game despite featuring two teams from the same league. The neutral-site setting in Greensboro provides another stage for one of the region’s most familiar basketball rivalries.
