Taj Gibson is retiring from the NBA after 17 seasons and will join the Chicago Bulls coaching staff as an assistant coach.
The move brings Gibson back to the organization where he began his professional career and spent some of his most notable years as a player. Known throughout his career for his toughness, defensive presence and professionalism, Gibson now transitions from the court to the sideline.
A New Role in Chicago
Gibson’s addition gives the Bulls another former NBA player on the coaching staff, bringing nearly two decades of league experience into the locker room. His familiarity with the franchise adds another layer to his return as he begins the next phase of his basketball career.
After a long run as a dependable frontcourt presence, Gibson closes his playing career and steps into a player-development and coaching role with Chicago.
