Victor Wembanyama was drained by the final buzzer, but the result left him beaming.
After the San Antonio Spurs stormed back from a 25-point deficit to stun the Los Angeles Clippers 116-112 on Friday night, Wembanyama said he had “zero left” physically. Even so, he was all smiles in the aftermath of a comeback that flipped the game late and delivered one of San Antonio’s most dramatic wins of the season.
Spurs rally from deep hole
San Antonio trailed by as many as 25 before mounting its turnaround and closing out the Clippers in the final moments. The victory capped a 116-112 finish and underscored the Spurs’ resilience after spending much of the night chasing the game.
Wembanyama’s night
Wembanyama finished with 25 points, helping fuel the rally despite acknowledging how little he had left physically by the end. His postgame comments reflected both the toll of the effort and the satisfaction of pulling off the comeback.
