Providence made a pair of headline roster moves Thursday, landing a commitment from G League standout Dink Pate and adding reigning Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year Miles Byrd.
The additions mark two major early pickups for the Friars and new head coach Bryan Hodgson as he begins shaping Providence’s roster.
Pate arrives after a big season in the G League, bringing pro-level experience to the college game. Byrd joins Providence with a defensive résumé that includes the top individual honor in the Mountain West.
