Top-ranked Arizona suffered its second straight defeat Saturday, falling 78-75 in overtime to Texas Tech after surrendering a seven-point lead late in regulation.

The Wildcats were in position to close out the game in the final minutes of the second half, but Texas Tech rallied to force overtime. In the extra period, the Red Raiders did enough to secure the three-point win and hand Arizona another setback.

Late lead slips away

Arizona’s advantage in the closing stretch of regulation proved fleeting, as Texas Tech erased the deficit to extend the game. The Wildcats were unable to regain control in overtime, finishing on the wrong side of a tight final score.

The loss continues a difficult stretch for Arizona, which entered the weekend ranked No. 1 and has now dropped back-to-back games.
