Nebraska’s Fred Hoiberg was named the Associated Press men’s basketball Coach of the Year on Friday, earning one of the sport’s top individual coaching honors.
Hoiberg edged Duke’s Jon Scheyer and Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd for the award, with both coaches finishing close behind in the final results.
Top contenders in the AP vote
Hoiberg’s selection placed him ahead of Scheyer and Lloyd, two of the most prominent coaches in the national picture this season. The AP honor recognizes coaching performance across men’s college basketball.
