Miami (Ohio) coach Travis Steele has been fined $2,500 by the Mid-American Conference and will be required to replace an arena DJ’s equipment that he damaged during a midgame outburst, the league announced Monday.
The incident occurred during Miami’s 69-67 win at Western Michigan on Friday. According to the MAC, Steele damaged the DJ’s equipment during his tirade in the middle of the game.
The conference’s disciplinary action includes both the monetary fine and the requirement that Steele replace the damaged equipment.

Despite the incident, Miami left Kalamazoo with a two-point road victory, edging Western Michigan 69-67 on Friday.
