BYU guard Richie Saunders left Saturday’s matchup between the Cougars and Colorado just 45 seconds into the first half with an apparent lower leg injury.
Saunders’ exit came almost immediately after the second half began, taking a key backcourt piece out of the game early and prompting BYU to adjust on the fly against the Buffaloes.
What happened
Saunders appeared to suffer the injury in the opening moments of the second half and did not continue after leaving the floor. The nature of the injury was described as a lower leg issue.
Immediate impact
With Saunders unavailable, BYU was forced to reshuffle its guard rotation for the remainder of the contest against Colorado.
