Ball State has fired men’s basketball coach Michael Lewis after the Cardinals finished 12–19 and failed to qualify for the Mid-American Conference tournament.
The decision follows three straight losing seasons for Ball State, with this year’s record marking another step short of postseason play in the MAC. The Cardinals’ inability to reach the conference tournament underscored a difficult campaign that ended without a chance to compete for the league’s automatic NCAA tournament bid.
