Youngstown State earned an 85–76 win over IU Indy in NCAA action, pulling away late to secure a nine-point victory. The Penguins generated consistent offense across the game and did enough defensively in the closing minutes to keep IU Indy from completing a comeback.
IU Indy stayed within striking distance for much of the contest, answering Youngstown State runs with timely scoring to keep the margin manageable. However, Youngstown State maintained control by continuing to produce points and limiting extended scoring droughts, allowing them to protect their lead as the game moved into the final stretch.
The decisive sequence came late, when Youngstown State created separation with a key run that pushed the lead to multiple possessions. From there, the Penguins managed the clock and continued to convert enough scoring chances to close out the result.
