Game previews, recaps and daily roundups
Minnesota arrives at the American Airlines Center in strong form, while Dallas enters with a 24-50 record and a recent skid that has tightened its margin for error. This matchup profiles as a classic high-variance spot: a superior road team facing a home side still trying to convert isolated wins into sustainable stretches.
San Antonio enters March 31 riding a five-game win streak and a 55-18 record, positioning this matchup as a classic “heavy favorite vs. spoiler” scenario. Chicago arrives at 29-44 with inconsistent recent form, meaning its path to an upset likely runs through controlling game-to-game variance rather than winning the most possessions outright.
March 29 delivered a 22-game cross-league slate defined by blowouts at the top end and late-game separation at the margins. Toronto posted the day’s most lopsided NBA result, while Houston and Phoenix also cleared the 130 mark in emphatic wins.
Brooklyn hit Sacramento with a 31-point first quarter and a 37-point second to build a massive halftime cushion, then closed out a 116-99 win Saturday at Barclays Center. The Nets finished with 27 assists to the Kings’ 21, turning early shot-making and cleaner connectivity into a rare comfortable finish.
Houston turned a tied first quarter into a runaway at the Smoothie King Center, blitzing New Orleans 39-18 in the second on the way to a 134-102 win. The Rockets’ ball movement (33 assists) overwhelmed a Pelicans team that managed 19 assists in the loss.
Leotar Trebinje ended a five-game losing streak with a wire-to-wire 87-65 win over Slavija on March 28, 2026 at Sportska dvorana Milos Mrdic. A 54-32 first half broke the game open and never let Slavija’s late push get within striking distance.
Breogán shook off a 26-point first quarter from Manresa and turned the game with a relentless three-quarter response, winning 91-78 Friday at Pazo dos Deportes. The result pulls Breogán out of its skid and drops Manresa back into the logjam with matching 9-14 records.
Barcelona and Unicaja arrive at Palau Blaugrana with identical 15-8 records, turning March 29 into a high-leverage ACB tiebreaker-style spot. The recent-form profiles are volatile on both sides, setting up a game likely decided by execution in the margins rather than reputation.
Cheshire Phoenix enter March 29 with a 16-11 record and a steadier recent profile (WWLWW) than a Bristol Flyers side searching for traction (12-13, LLLWL). At Cheshire Oaks Arena, the key question is whether Cheshire can convert consistency into control—or whether Bristol can turn volatility into a road upset.
San Pablo Burgos (6-17) returns to the Coliseum Burgos looking to convert recent volatility into a repeatable home blueprint against Valencia (17-6). Valencia arrive as the higher-probability profile, but both teams’ recent sequences suggest a game where timing, not just talent, may decide the margin.
Al Ahli enters March 29 with a 7-8 record and a form line that signals variance (LLWWL), while Al Muharraq arrives as the league’s pace-setter at 14-1 and riding five straight wins (WWWWW). This matchup profiles as a test of whether short-run swings can meaningfully dent a season-long advantage in consistency and win conversion.
Sheffield enters March 29 with a 12-12 record and a LLWLW recent run, while Surrey arrives at 11-14 and trending the other way at LWLLL. In a near-even matchup on paper, the game may be decided less by “who’s better” and more by who controls the high-leverage possessions late.
A packed March 28 slate across the NBA, NCAA and ACB delivered blowouts, late-game holds and a couple of statement road wins. San Antonio’s 127-95 demolition in Milwaukee headlined the NBA board, while Real Madrid survived Basquet Girona 95-93 in Spain.
Detroit turned a grind into a runaway Friday night, pulling away from Minnesota with a dominant fourth quarter to win 109-87 at Target Center. The Pistons’ ball movement (28 assists) and late-game execution overwhelmed a Timberwolves group that finished with just 18 assists.
Philadelphia walked out of Spectrum Center with a 118-114 win Friday after flipping a game Charlotte controlled early. The Hornets led by 11 after one quarter, but a 39-point second quarter from the 76ers changed the night — and a 17-point fourth sealed it.
Oklahoma City turned a tight first half into a statement finish Friday, outscoring Chicago by 23 after intermission to win 131-113. The Thunder’s ball movement (29 assists) and a decisive fourth-quarter push put away a Bulls team that briefly controlled the early pace.
Houston controlled the tempo and won three of four quarters Friday night at FedExForum, beating Memphis 119-109. The loss dropped the Grizzlies to 24-49 and extended their losing streak to six, while the Rockets moved to 44-29 with another road win.
Toronto took control early and never let New Orleans fully close the gap, rolling to a 119-106 win Saturday night. The Raptors’ 36 assists — against 21 for the Pelicans — told the story of a game decided by pace, connectivity and shot creation.
Denver survived a blistering Utah third quarter and closed with a 37-point fourth to win 135-129 on March 28, 2026, at Ball Arena. Both teams finished with 34 assists in a high-tempo game that swung on shot-making runs and late execution.
Detroit arrives in Minneapolis with a 53-20 record and strong recent form, but Minnesota’s 45-28 mark and WWLWW stretch suggests a team peaking at the right time. With both clubs positioned as top-tier contenders in the 2025-26 NBA season, this matchup profiles as a high-leverage test of consistency versus momentum.
Basquet Girona (11-12) returns to Pavello Fontajau looking to disrupt a red-hot Real Madrid side (21-2) riding a five-game winning streak. The matchup profiles as a classic ACB contrast: a mid-table team searching for stability versus a league leader optimizing outcomes through consistency—and forcing opponents to win the possession game.
San Antonio arrives at Fiserv Forum riding a five-game win streak and one of the league’s best records, while Milwaukee is searching for stability amid a 29-43 season. This matchup sets up as a classic expected-value problem: can the Bucks create enough high-leverage possessions to swing outcomes against a hotter, more consistent Spurs group?
Granada (2-21) and Força Lleida (8-15) meet March 28, 2026 at Palacio de Deportes with both sides carrying losing momentum into a high-leverage ACB matchup. The records suggest an away-edge on baseline quality, but recent form and game-state pressure create a volatile environment where small swings can decide outcomes.
