Zalgiris, Crvena zvezda and Dubai Win Away on a 71-Game Night

A 71-game Friday across Euroleague, NBA and NCAA play was defined by road authority in Europe, clean NBA home wins and a long list of lopsided college results. Zalgiris Kaunas, Crvena zvezda and Dubai all won Euroleague games away from home, while the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors handled their NBA matchups by double figures.

Friday’s 71-game basketball slate stretched across Euroleague, NBA and NCAA action, with the sharpest results coming from road teams in Europe and several high-major college programs producing decisive margins.

In Euroleague play, Zalgiris Kaunas beat Besiktas 83-69, Crvena zvezda edged Olympiacos 62-57, Dubai defeated Virtus Bologna 93-75, and Partizan Mozzart Bet controlled Maccabi Tel Aviv 88-67. In the NBA, the Phoenix Suns beat the Orlando Magic 117-104 and the Golden State Warriors beat the Miami Heat 120-100.

Euroleague road teams set the tone

Zalgiris Kaunas delivered one of the night’s cleanest Euroleague road results, beating Besiktas 83-69. The 14-point margin gave Zalgiris separation in a game where Besiktas never reached 70 points, a profile that points to sustained defensive control rather than a late scoring burst alone.

Crvena zvezda won the lowest-scoring Euroleague game of the night, beating Olympiacos 62-57. Holding Olympiacos to 57 points on its home floor made the result stand out in a four-game Euroleague window, especially with only a five-point margin leaving little room for empty possessions.

Dubai produced the highest Euroleague scoring total of the night in a 93-75 road win at Virtus Bologna. The 18-point margin was the largest road win among the Euroleague games, and Dubai’s 93 points were 10 more than any other Euroleague team scored Friday.

Partizan Mozzart Bet supplied the lone Euroleague home win, beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 88-67. The 21-point margin was the largest in Euroleague play Friday, and Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 67 points matched the kind of offensive ceiling that left the road side chasing the game.

Suns and Warriors win by double figures in NBA action

The Phoenix Suns beat the Orlando Magic 117-104, using a 13-point margin to separate from a Magic team that still reached triple digits. Phoenix’s 117 points were the second-highest NBA total of the night.

The Golden State Warriors posted the NBA’s largest margin Friday, beating the Miami Heat 120-100. Golden State also had the night’s top NBA scoring total, reaching 120 while holding Miami exactly to 100.

NCAA blowouts create the widest gaps of the night

Texas State authored the biggest scoring total of the full slate, beating Howard Payne 135-66. The 69-point margin was one of several NCAA results decided long before the final possessions.

Lindenwood beat Central Bible 120-46, a 74-point spread that ranked as the largest margin Friday. Louisiana Tech was nearly as emphatic defensively, holding Ark Monticello to 17 points in a 76-17 win.

Richmond Spiders beat Southern Virginia 107-46, Duke defeated Coastal Carolina 113-52, Columbia beat Old Westbury 120-58, and Tennessee State beat EWU Phantoms 127-61. Each result paired a triple-digit offensive output with a margin of at least 61 points.

Baylor beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 109-53, Syracuse defeated Central Connecticut State 102-49, and Air Force beat Calumet College 107-58. Those results fit a broader college pattern Friday: high-major and established programs created early scoreboard pressure and kept opponents from matching pace.

High-major programs avoid drama

Several national programs handled their assignments with comfortable margins. Texas beat Gardner Webb 98-50, Florida defeated Jacksonville Dolphins 88-57, Michigan State beat Toledo 91-61, Illinois beat Penn 112-70, Virginia beat Northeastern 97-72, Oregon beat East. Washington 96-71, and Ohio State beat Youngstown State 89-65.

Arizona beat Cal Poly 104-84 in one of the higher-scoring college games, while Notre Dame beat Mercyhurst Lakers 83-56, Mississippi St. beat Northwestern St. 82-44, Creighton beat Le Moyne 83-55, and Texas Tech beat Bethune-Cookman 76-58.

Pittsburgh beat Buffalo 80-61, Cincinnati beat Wisc. Green Bay 81-64, Boston College beat UMass 71-55, Utah Utes beat Towson 67-57, and UC Davis beat Menlo 65-52. Those games did not reach the extreme margins of the night, but each winner controlled enough of the scoreboard to avoid a one-possession finish.

Close finishes cut through the volume

Several NCAA games were decided by a single possession. Princeton beat Hofstra 60-58, DePaul beat South Florida 82-80, South Alabama beat Jacksonville State 83-80, and Binghamton beat St. Peters 58-55.

There were also notable road wins in tight games. Maine Black Bears beat Sacred Heart 74-72, Albany Great Danes beat Manhattan 72-68, East Texas A&M beat Rice 72-71, and Valparaiso beat Purdue 83-80.

Jackson State edged Tulane 87-85, Fort Valley State Wildcats beat Florida A&M 75-70, and South Carolina St beat USC Upstate 78-70. In a slate with many one-sided scores, those results carried a different texture: late-possession execution mattered more than cumulative depth.
