Olympiakos captured the EuroLeague basketball title on Sunday with a 92-85 victory over Real Madrid at Telekom Center in Athens, Greece.

Playing in a charged atmosphere, Olympiakos had to recover from a difficult opening stretch after falling behind 15-3 in the first four minutes. The final developed into a back-and-forth contest, with the eventual champions responding to Real Madrid’s early surge and finding enough late separation to secure the trophy.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was among those in the crowd as Olympiakos completed its title-winning performance on home soil in Athens.

A comeback on the biggest stage

The early deficit placed Olympiakos under immediate pressure, but the Greek side steadied itself after Real Madrid’s fast start. From there, the game tightened into a competitive final before Olympiakos finished with the stronger closing stretch.

The 92-85 result gave Olympiakos the EuroLeague crown and ended a dramatic championship game that tested the team from the opening minutes.
