Men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy has been named interim athletic director while UAB conducts a search for Ingram’s permanent replacement. Kennedy will take on the temporary administrative role as the department moves through the transition.
Kennedy Takes Interim Role During Search
Kennedy, who leads the Blazers’ men’s basketball program, will oversee the athletic department on an interim basis during the search process. The move places one of UAB’s most prominent coaches in a leadership position as the university works to identify its next athletic director.
Ingram’s departure closes an 11-year tenure leading UAB athletics. The school will now begin the process of selecting a new athletic director to guide the department moving forward.
