USA Basketball is expected to name Mark Daigneault, JB Bickerstaff and Mark Few as assistant coaches on head coach Erik Spoelstra’s staff for Team USA.
Daigneault, the head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder, has become one of the NBA’s prominent coaching figures while leading one of the league’s most competitive young teams. Bickerstaff, now head coach of the Detroit Pistons, brings extensive NBA coaching experience from multiple stops across the league.
Few, the longtime head coach at Gonzaga, adds a decorated college coaching résumé to the staff. He has built Gonzaga into one of the most consistent programs in men’s college basketball and has prior experience working within USA Basketball.
Experienced Staff Around Spoelstra
The expected additions would give Spoelstra a coaching staff with broad experience across the NBA and college game. Spoelstra, head coach of the Miami Heat, is set to lead Team USA as the program continues shaping its next coaching group.
