Free agent guard Marcus Smart has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Houston Rockets, adding a veteran presence to the club’s backcourt.
The agreement includes a player option for the second season, giving Smart flexibility beyond the first year of the contract.
Veteran Guard Joins Houston
Smart, long regarded as a physical and defensive-minded guard, brings experience to a Rockets team continuing to shape its roster. The move gives Houston another established option in the backcourt as the franchise builds out its rotation.
The contract terms place Smart on a short-term deal while allowing both sides to move forward with clarity entering the upcoming season.
