The October 8 slate delivered seven games across Euroleague and NBA W, with Euroleague accounting for six of the matchups and producing several clear separation points. Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Olimpia Milano 97-79, Panathinaikos handled Fenerbahce 92-74, Valencia defeated Hapoel Tel-Aviv 93-82 and Real Madrid beat Partizan Mozzart Bet 86-76.
The two road wins in Euroleague came from Crvena zvezda and Virtus Bologna. Crvena zvezda held Dubai to 58 points in a 77-58 win, while Virtus Bologna outscored Bayern 94-87 in the highest-scoring combined Euroleague game of the night.
In NBA W, Golden State Valkyries W beat Las Vegas Aces W 83-81, the only game on the slate decided by one possession.
Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos win by 18
Maccabi Tel Aviv produced the night’s largest home scoring total, beating Olimpia Milano 97-79. The 18-point margin matched Panathinaikos’ 92-74 win over Fenerbahce for the biggest Euroleague home win of the slate.
Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 97 points also stood as the highest single-team output across all seven games. In a slate where several home teams reached the 90-point mark, Maccabi Tel Aviv created the clearest offensive separation by pairing a high-end scoring total with a double-digit defensive cushion.
Panathinaikos’ 92-74 result against Fenerbahce followed a similar profile. The final margin reflected control on both ends, with Panathinaikos reaching 90 points while keeping Fenerbahce in the mid-70s.
Crvena zvezda delivers the strongest defensive result
Crvena zvezda’s 77-58 win at Dubai was the most restrictive defensive performance of the Euroleague slate. Dubai was the only team held below 70 points on the night, and the 58-point total was the lowest by any team across the seven games.
The 19-point margin was also the largest of the day. Unlike the high-scoring home wins from Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos, Crvena zvezda built its result through containment, winning comfortably without needing to reach 80 points.
Virtus Bologna wins the night’s Euroleague shootout
Virtus Bologna beat Bayern 94-87 in the most productive combined scoring game among the Euroleague matchups. The 181 total points surpassed every other Euroleague game on the slate and made Virtus Bologna one of four Euroleague teams to reach at least 90 points.
Bayern’s 87 points were the highest total by any losing Euroleague team on the night. That placed pressure on Virtus Bologna to sustain scoring deep into the game, and the road side finished with enough offensive volume to separate by seven.
Valencia and Real Madrid add controlled home wins
Valencia defeated Hapoel Tel-Aviv 93-82, giving the Euroleague slate another home team above 90 points. The 11-point margin placed Valencia between the blowout tier and the tighter Bayern-Virtus Bologna result.
Real Madrid beat Partizan Mozzart Bet 86-76, holding Partizan Mozzart Bet to the same total Bayern allowed Virtus Bologna to exceed by 18 points. Real Madrid did not need a 90-point night to create a double-digit margin, and the 10-point result completed a strong home showing across the Euroleague schedule.
Valkyries edge Aces in the closest finish
Golden State Valkyries W beat Las Vegas Aces W 83-81 in NBA W, the only game on the slate decided by fewer than seven points. Las Vegas Aces W came within one possession, but Golden State Valkyries W closed with the two-point edge.
The contrast with the Euroleague results was sharp. While five of the six Euroleague games were decided by double digits or seven points, the NBA W matchup was defined by late-game margin management and a final score that left no room for separation.
