Atlanta made the loudest statement on Thursday’s NBA W schedule, rolling past Connecticut 104-69 in the most lopsided result of the four-game slate.
The Dream’s road win stood out on a night that also featured a 20-point Golden State victory, a six-point Dallas win over Toronto and a four-point Minnesota escape at Portland. Across the board, the results created a clear split: two games decided by six points or fewer, and two controlled by double digits.
Dream Overwhelm Sun in 104-69 Road Win
Atlanta’s 104-69 win at Connecticut was the defining performance of the night. The Dream not only cleared the 100-point mark, they held the Sun under 70, creating a 35-point margin that separated this result from every other game on the schedule.
For Connecticut, the final score reflected a game that got away decisively. Atlanta controlled the scoreboard to a degree no other team matched Thursday, turning a road matchup into the night’s most emphatic result.
Valkyries Handle Sky by 20
Golden State produced the other comfortable win of the slate, beating Chicago 91-71. The Valkyries paired efficient scoring volume with enough defensive resistance to keep the Sky from making the game competitive late.
The 20-point margin gave Golden State a clean home result and positioned the Valkyries alongside Atlanta as one of the night’s clear-cut winners. Chicago, meanwhile, finished with the lowest total among the losing teams outside Connecticut.
Wings Hold Off Tempo in Dallas
Dallas earned a 94-88 home win over Toronto in one of the tighter contests of the evening. Unlike the blowouts elsewhere, this game stayed within reach, with the Wings needing to close out a six-point result against the Tempo.
The 182 combined points made it one of the higher-scoring games on the board, but Dallas did enough late to protect home court. Toronto’s 88 points would have been enough to compete in most matchups Thursday, but not against a Wings team that reached 94.
Lynx Edge Portland on the Road
Minnesota finished off the closest game of the night, beating Portland 85-81. The Lynx were the only road team besides Atlanta to win Thursday, and they did it in a game defined by narrow margins.
Portland kept the pressure on, but Minnesota’s four-point win gave the Lynx a valuable road result. In a slate featuring two decisive outcomes, this was the game that came down to late-game execution.
Thursday’s Results
Dallas Wings W 94, Toronto Tempo W 88
Golden State Valkyries W 91, Chicago Sky W 71
Minnesota Lynx W 85, Portland W 81
