Philadelphia 76ers backup center Ariel Hukporti left Monday’s preseason opener against the New York Knicks after suffering a right leg injury early in the game.
The injury occurred just five minutes into the contest, forcing Hukporti to exit before he could play an extended role in Philadelphia’s first preseason matchup.
Early setback in preseason action
Hukporti’s departure came at the start of the 76ers’ exhibition schedule, a period typically used for evaluating rotations, building conditioning and giving reserve players meaningful minutes. His early exit limited his opportunity to contribute against New York.
No additional details on the severity of the injury were included in the initial report. The 76ers continued the preseason matchup without their backup center available.
